HIV-1 QUANTITATIVE PCR (07/17/2017 4:07 PM)
Narrative

Interpretation:
Not detected = Negative
<20 copies/mL = Positive.  Virus detected below 20 copies/mL
20 copies/mL to 10,000,000 copies/mL = Positive
>10,000,000 copies/mL =Positive. Virus detected above maximum quantitative range.

Methodology:
This HIV-1 RNA real-time assay utilizes the Roche cobas 6800 HIV test.  A positive result should be coupled with clinical indicators for diagnosis.  A "Not detected" result for this assay does not exclude HIV-1 involvement in a disease process. This test has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment of 1988 ("CLIA") as qualified to perform high complexity clinical testing.

Narrative
Interpret with caution in the context of hemoglobin variants, thalassemias, red blood cell transfusions, iron replacement therapy, chronic renal failure, and conditions with reduced erythrocyte survival.
The American Diabetes Association endorses using A1C >6.5% as a criteria for diagnosing diabetes and suggests that patients with values between 5.7%-6.4% are at increased risk for diabetes. Maintaining A1C levels at or below 7.0% has been shown to reduce the risk of long term diabetic complications.
Estimated Average Glucose by ADAG/ADA Calculation.

HIV-1 QUANTITATIVE PCR (07/18/2016 3:24 PM)
Narrative

Interpretation:
Not detected = Negative
<20 copies/mL = Positive.  Virus detected below 20 copies/mL
20 copies/mL to 10,000,000 copies/mL = Positive
>10,000,000 copies/mL =Positive. Virus detected above maximum quantitative range.

Methodology:
This HIV-1 RNA real-time assay utilizes the Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman 96 HIV-1 v2.0 test.

*Puberty onset (transition from Tanner stage I
to Tanner stage II) occurs for boys at a median
age of 11.5 (+/-2) years and for girls at a median
age of 10.5 (+/-2) years. There is evidence that
it may occur up to 1 year earlier in obese girls
and in African American girls. For boys there is no
definite proven relationship between puberty onset
and body weight or ethnic origin. Progression through
stages is variable. Tanner stage V (young adult)
should be reached by age 18.

Comment:
Interpret with caution in the context of hemoglobin variants,
thalassemias, red blood cell transfusions, iron replacement therapy,
chronic renal failure, and conditions with reduced erythrocyte survival.
The American Diabetes Association endorses using A1c >6.5% as a
criteria for diagnosing diabetes and suggests that patients with
values between 5.7% - 6.4% are at increased risk for diabetes.
Maintaining A1c levels at or below 7.0% has been shown to reduce
the risk of long-term diabetic complications.

HIV-1 QUANTITATIVE PCR (HIV QUANT PCR) (09/15/2014 1:49 PM)
Component Value Ref Range
HIV QUANT PCR TND
Comment:
No virus was isolated.  To achieve volume necessary
for testing, the sample was diluted 1:2. The minimal
detection limit for this dilution is <40.
REFERENCE RANGES:
  TND = Target not detected
<20 copies/mL = Target detected but below level of quantitation
  20 - 10,000,000 copies/mL = Quantitatively positive
  >10,000,000 copies/mL = Positive, above linear quantitation range of assay
This HIV RNA real-time PCR assay utilizes the Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS
Taqman 96 HIV-1 test version 2.0.  A positive result should be coupled
with clinical indicators for diagnosis/treatment.  An HIVPCR result of 20
copies/mL does not exclude HIV involvement in a disease process.  This
test has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

*Puberty onset (transition from Tanner stage I
to Tanner stage II) occurs for boys at a median
age of 11.5 (+/-2) years and for girls at a median
age of 10.5 (+/-2) years. There is evidence that
it may occur up to 1 year earlier in obese girls
and in African American girls. For boys there is no
definite proven relationship between puberty onset
and body weight or ethnic origin. Progression through
stages is variable. Tanner stage V (young adult)
should be reached by age 18.

Taqman 96 HIV-1 test version 2.0.  A positive result should be coupled
with clinical indicators for diagnosis/treatment.  An HIVPCR result of 20
copies/mL does not exclude HIV involvement in a disease process.  This
test has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Test performed at University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus,12401 E. 17th Ave., Aurora CO 80045
